Fair brings festive cheer to East Barnet Village

Carol singers, market stalls and festive treats were on offer at the East Barnet Village Festive Fair.

The event was organised by Alison Phillips and a team of volunteers to promote shopping in East Barnet Village.  Many of the shop keepers were involved and help to sponsor and promote the event.  These included Chas R Lowe Estates, Parkes Wilshire Johnson, Maries Shoes and East Barnet Vets.

Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, opened the fair on Saturday at the Friend in Need Community Centre where there was many stalls and a treasure hunt for the children, who also had the chance to meet Santa, while carol singers entertained the crowds.

Ms Villiers said: "Local shops are not just important for our economy, they are a much-valued part of our community too. So it is fantastic that this festive fair is going so well and encouraging people to shop locally.
